Having Trouble Getting De-Cluttered & Need Help? Who Ya Gonna Call? September 21st, 2012
If your home resembles this . . . you’re just not ready to list!
As we have all heard plenty of times, first impressions are everything! This is especially true when showing your home to potential buyers, renters and their accompanying Realtors. As this article points out, it is crucial that your home look open and airy, and that the abundant storage space take center stage, not your cramped closet or overflowing bookshelves. Although decluttering may seem like an overwhelming task to some, it will be worth your while if a buyer decides your house is something they can move into, not a cramped space they will likely outgrow.
On more than one occasion I have helped my clients rearrange their home to make it more appealing in photos and in person. One personal pet peeve of mine is having every appliance you own on display in the kitchen! This may be a functional place to keep these items for your everyday life, but certainly does not make the best impression on someone trying to imagine themselves having plenty of room to prepare gourmet meals there. My clients are often surprised by some of my recommendations, but in the end are happy they made the changes I suggested before placing their home on the market. If you are looking to list your home in the Coconut Grove, Coral Gables or Pinecrest areas, I would be happy to give you my advice for ensuring successful showings based on my 25+ years of experience in the industry.
